Report 2016-17

EDUCATION
With Great pleasure, I present to you, the Annual report of Shree
Gujarati Mahajan Association English Medium School run our
association for the academic year 2016- 17.

Shree Gujarati Nursery School
Our Kindergarten section, with the introduction of activity based
joyful way of learning, in partnership with Hippo campus consisted of a
total number of 90 children during the year 2016-17.

Shree Gujarati Higher Primary English Medium School
Shree Gujarati Higher Primary English Medium School has classes
from Std I to Std VII. Total number of children in higher primary section
during 2016-2017 were 307.

Shree J.D.Kotecha Gujarati English Medium High School
The strength of our High School during the year 2016-2017 was
126. The total strength of the school was 523.

Staff :
We have an excellent faculty comprising of 17 well trained, well
experienced, dedicated teaching staff and 8 supporting staff including
clerical and sub-staffs. Apart from the various core subject teachers, we
have an enthusiastic team of teachers for yoga, music, dance and drawing.

Academic achievement :
Academic session 2016-17 ended on a happy note witnessing excellent
performance one of our student Master Hassan Rahil securing 97.6%
in the State Board Exams breaking all the previous records
The school has secured 94.7% result in the S.S.L.C. board examination
held in April 2017. Among the 38 appeared 5 passed in A grade, 8 passed
in B+ grade, 5 students secured B grade, 13 passed in C+ and 4 passed
with C grade.

Student Enrichment Program:
To ensure that our students are equipped to face any challenge, we
have focused on few Student Enrichment programs as follows:
The students of MSW from Roshni Nilaya, College of Social work
take up classes for the Std III once a week to create better social awareness
among students.
The resource persons from Deccan Herald conduct classes once in a
fortnight to tone up the communication skills and leadership skills of
students from classes V to X.
High School students are enriched with knowledge on Adolescence
Skills through SFA Classes conducted honorary resource person Mrs.
Leena Karia, once in a week.
Mr. Manjunath ,Traffic Inspector ,was invited to school to educate
the students on traffic rules and regulations Retd. colonel Nitteguttu
Sharath Bhandary -was honored on account of “Ajjadi 70 ,Yaad karo
kurbani’’,celebration.He spoke on Patriotism and inspired the students
to join. Indian army.
A part from this, Students get ample opportunities to exhibit their
talent displaying their creativity in the class bulletin board. Various
clubs like English, Math’s and Child right clubs gives them opportunity
to explore the unique talent of the students.
A health check-up of all the students including eye check-up was
done the doctors of District Health Office.

Extra –Curricular Activities
By providing a conducive and encouraging environment students
are mentored to participate in various school and inter school competitions.

Prathiba karanji Competition
Our students bagged the following prizes in the cluster level.
In the Lower primary section, Miss.Sufiya Kaynath, Miss.Inchara
Ganesh and Master Ayush from Std IV won the Third and second places
in Arabic recitation, fancy dress and clay modeling respectively.

In the Higher primary level, Miss.Amulya, Miss.Kavana and Master
Suraj secured second places in Konkani recitation, Light music and Fancy
dress.
Higher primary girls also won the Third place in cluster level folk
dance.
Mst.Ayyan of Std VIII won the Third place in Quran recitation.
Interschool-Apart from this Kumari.Amulya of Std V won First place
in Bhakthi Geethe and Second place in Patriotic song organized
Sarvajanika Ganeshotsava samithi.

Sports
Kabaddi
Our Higher primary girls won the First place in the cluster level
Kabaddi
Miss. Kashish and Miss. Hasna were selected as the Best all rounder
and Best catcher respectively and boys won the second place in the cluster
level and also runners up in the Taluk level kabaddi tournament organized
the department Mst. Safwan of Std VII was selected as the Best all
rounder in the cluster level and Best rider in the Taluk level.

Athletics
In the cluster level sports meet organized the department our
students bagged the following prizes .
Miss.Kashish of VII Std won the First in shot-put, Miss. Pooja of VI
Std second in shot-put, Master Safwan of VII Std second in long jump
and hurdles.
Miss. Jnanvi of VIII Std won the First place in 100 Mts, First place
in long jump and second in 200 Mts.
Now, let us have a brief glimpse of the functions that marked the
school calendar this year.
On 20-8 -16 the scout troop of the school celebrated Sadbhavana
diwas depicting national integration and communal harmony among
people of all religion and languages.

On 5-06-16 on the World environment day, Eco club members
presented a skit on segregation of waste under the guidance of Mr. Abdul
Rehman from Anti Pollution drive foundation.
On 12-06 16 world day against child labour was marked child
right club taking an oath to fight against child labour.
On 21-06-16, International yoga day, Mrs. Mangala from Kriya yoga
gave live demo of easy and simple Kriya yoga to the students also all the
students of higher primary performed Yoga under the guidance of our
yoga teacher Mrs. Prathiba Nayak
On 15-10-2016 Global hand wash day- students watched videos on
proper way to wash hands “Make hand washing a habit because it prevents
diarrhea!” and “Make hand washing a habit because it impacts nutrition!”
was the theme.
School Parliament elections and club inauguration: School witnessed
election for the school parliament and house group captains with a touch
of authentic election process through E-voting. Master Hassan Rahil and
Miss Saneena Shabnam ware elected as the school pupil leader and Asst.
School pupil leader The School Cabinet was installed the local cooperator
Mr. Rajendra Kumar.

Vanamahotsava :
was celebrated on June 12th to create awareness among students
about preserving and protecting greenery. Chief guest Mrs. Monaben
planted saplings along with students. Class II and VI presented the program
emphasizing the importance of Flora and fauna in our life.

Independence day
our national flag was hoisted Mr. Hitendra Kothari President of
SGMA, Students of Std. IX and Std IV participated in the dance drama
“Vande Mataram“

Teachers Day
On this occasion all the teachers of the school and the prize winners
of the sports conducted on account of teachers day, were honored the
PTA members, Students of Std X and Std I presented a cultural program
on “Great teachers of India” Best part of the program was dance and skit
performed the members of PTA which was much appreciated all the
teachers.

Kannada Rajyotsava :
A dance depicting the famous personalities, culture and tradition of
kannada nadu nudi was presented the students of Std V and Std VI.
On 26-11-2016 Constitution Day: It was celebrated to commemorate
the adoption of Constitution of India. Members of child right club presented
a skit on rights and duties of a citizen.

Children day
Fancy dress competition was conducted for all children on this
occasion. The icing on the cake was the entertainment program presented
the teachers.

Republic Day
was celebrated in all its solemnity and grandeur the students of
std IV and VII.

Annual Sports Day
Held on 22nd December at the school play ground was inaugurated
the chief guest Mr. Ramesh Sarania former president of SGMA. Mr.
Rajan Baldev and all the members of the committee were present on the
occasion.
The individual Champions of this year from high school section were
Shariq and Janavi and from the senior group were Master. Sahil from
Std VII and Sangeetha from Std VI

Kindergarten Graduation day :
The Kindergarten graduation day of Shree Gujarathi English Medium
School was organized on 31st of March 2017 in the school auditorium.
The chief guest of the day Mr.Rajan Baldev Chairman of the education
committee honored the tiny tots with their graduation certificates.

Annual Day
The pre-primary and the lower primary section celebrated the Annual
Day on 22nd December with Mr. Umesh Malhotra as the Chief guest. The
higher primary and the High school section celebrated the Annual Day
on 23rd December 2016. 5th addition of “Dristi” School Magazine was
released the chief guest Mr. M.B. Puranik on this occasion. A spectacular
cultural programme on corruption and global unity was much appreciated
the parents.

Co-Curricular Activities :
Besides imparting comprehensive and integrated education our school
lays emphasis on overall development. Some of the co-curricular activities
are outlined as follows:

Exhibition :
The students had an opportunity to exhibit their talents through
various experiments, models, projects, craft works etc. Mr. Kethan Vardhan,
Vice President of SGMA inaugurated and appreciated all the efforts and
hard work put forth the students under their teacher’s guidance.
Parents were also invited to visit and acknowledge their wards effort.

Study Tour
It has been an endeavor of the school to provide an experience of the
outside world organizing educational tours and excursions throughout
the year.

Staff enrichment program
To keep them updated with the challenges in education, Teachers
attended the seminars and workshops conducted Next ,
oxford publishers and the department.

Infrastructure :
A new section of junior HOO was started to give personalized attention
to each child. A newly renovated, upgraded computer lab with 20 computers
for students and 2 for teachers was inaugurated our academic advisor
Mrs. Kavitha Shastri.

Smart–class enhanced learning :
To update the teachers regarding the implementation of new content,
Smart class training was organized twice this year the Teach Next.

Utility Service
About 80 years ago, our ancestors visualized need of our association,
to strengthen out religious, cultural, moral, ethical and social values. Our
association is following the direction set them. Among the various
activities conducted, the following need to be emphasized upon.
1. Matruchhaya Hall : Our prestigious hall is being utilized our
members and other local citizen for various religious, social and cultural
activities. The hall is fully equipped with all kinds of facilities.
2. Academic Encoutagement : Since 19 years, we have been
recognizing the achievement of our Students who have fared exceptionally
well in the final examinations. Certificate of honour and silver medals
were awarded to 247 students who acquired more then 80% in school
exams and more than 75% in Board Exams. We hope that more and more
students would excel in the field of education and other activities. “The
Samajratna Sri Dr. V.V. Mody Award” was presented to Chandni Kamlesh
Padaliya, Nakshatra Hithesh Vasani, Diya Roshan Sanghvi, Purvi Kirit
Kumar Banugoria for securing the highest percentage of marks in
S.S.L.C., CBSE Boards and State Board Examination. Dr. Jasumanthiben
V. Modi Award & Sri Chandulal B. Bhatt (Guruji award) to the Topper
in S.S.L.C. of Gujarati School awarded to Nafeesathul Khatija Inshifa
for securing 92.96%.
3. Sri Jamnadas Nathala Vardhan Award of Rs. 5001/- to the 2nd
PUC topper of our Samaj in the science stream was awarded to Kushal
Vinod Patel for securing 97.66%
4. Sri Manaldas Gangadas Goradia & Smt. J.V. Kunwarben
Mangaldas Gorodia Memorial award of Rs. 5,001/- to the 2nd PUC Topper
of our Samaj in the commerce stream was awarded to Yashkumar
Jayantilal Makadia.
5. Rs. 5,001/- cash prize to the S.S.L.C. 2nd topper from our samaj
Sponsored Sri Sushil Kumar, Mangaldas Garodia Family was awarded
to Vishaka P. Kotecha, Samit D. Manavar, Yash P. Vacchani in the CBSE
Board examination & Jemin R. Patel in the State Board.
19 more members have been added to our Association as Life Members.

EDUCATIONAL AID
We are thankful to the following Donors who have generously donated
towards the school fees of students, who hail from poor financial
background.

Jalaram Seva Trust (R) (Donation Towards School Fees) – 15,000/-
Jayesh Nandlal Jasani (Donation towards school fees) – 12,000/-

We are also grateful to Parent Teacher Association who have generously
donated Rs. 25,000/- towards the betterment of the School.
A total amount of Rs. 1,56,237/- has been provided to the needy
students (Fees Concession) to students who have scored above 85% marks
in VII, VIII and IX Standard examinations the interest accumulated in the
Late Sri. Harikishandas Prabhudas Shethmemorial fund and
Smt. Prafulaben Pravinchandra Chandarana fund has been utilized here.

LOSS OF MEMBERS
We deeply mourn the souls of deceased members on their sad demise
and pray “May the almighty rest their souls in eternal peace”
Coming to the end of the report, we take the opportunity to thank all
donors but for whom this institution would not have reached the present
position. We are rest assured that this generosity will be show on all
occasions.
Last but not the least, we thank all the Samaj members for their
valuable support and co-operation for all the activities of our samaj during
the year. We hope to get their continued support and co-operation in the
years ahead in all respects.
